What is EDUCATION? The term Education in its ambiguity emphasizes “the acquisition of desired knowledge, skill and information”.
The Redefine Education Summit is a meeting the stakeholders in the education sector in Nigeria to discuss the strengths, opportunities, weakness and threats in the educational system in Nigeria, in relation to the global educational curriculum. We would be highlighting projects and initiatives working towards transforming education in Africa, as well as discuss how we can synergize and collaborate as stakeholders to renovate and restructure education in Africa.
Education as a tool for driving social change in a society cannot be overemphasized. The fourth industrial revolution, accompanied by the advancement in science and technology, has a tremendous impact on the global educational curriculum and global labour demand. It’s imperative we highlight, discuss and synergize initiatives, projects and platforms working towards revolutionizing Africa’s educational curriculum (Nigeria as a case study), to equip the coming generation with the basic skills, knowledge and mindset to contribute their quota to global development and sustainability.
Salt Talks Africa is a community development platform geared towards Africa’s sustainable development, with an emphasis on empowering Africans with the freedom to dream, to build and become prosperous and valuable citizens of the global society. It seeks and promotes platforms, enterprises, projects and possibilities geared towards transforming the African narrative positively, in alignment with the United Nations‘ Sustainable Development Goals. We believe 6 tools are responsible for shaping the culture and value system of any modern society; they are Education, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Media, Policy Making/Policy Changing and social enterprising.
How can we leverage these tools to restructure, redefine and renovate our educational curriculum, syllabi and knowledge dissemination techniques within and without the four walls of a classroom, in rural and urban regions???
The answers to the above questions are what we aim to unravel at The Redefine Education Summit.
- Enlighten stakeholders of the educational sectors (policymakers, students, teachers and lecturers, entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, educators and the general public) of the opportunities, threats, weakness and strengths in our education system in Nigeria.
- Highlight platforms and enterprises working towards changing the narrative of education in Africa.
- Understand how we can leverage tools such as Education, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Media, Policy-Making/Policy Changing and Social Enterprising to restructure the education curriculum and syllabi in Africa (Nigeria as a case study).
- Create an opportunity for collaboration and networking between stakeholders to invent, innovate and scale educational solutions.
